J Banks scoops major award

Leading hardware manufacture J.Banks has won the Midlands region Business Growth Awards in the prestigious 2012 EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

The annual business awards are hosted by EEF, the UK manufacturers’ organisation, and recognises excellence in enterprise, innovation, environmental performance and skills development.

Beating off stiff competition from many of the UK’s foremost household names and major multinational organisations, the midlands based manufacturer, best known for its comprehensive range of Door, Window and specialist Bi fold hardware products, is justifiably proud to have received this acknowledgement of the company’s performance.

Commenting on the award J.Banks Managing Director John Wellman, said “Since amalgamating the groups various manufacturing divisions under one roof earlier in the year we have been able to streamline the business thereby benefiting from improved efficiencies and cost effectiveness throughout the whole manufacturing process. Naturally it is a huge honour to have received this award, which I am thrilled to accept on behalf of the entire J.Banks team”.

The company operates from a modern 40,000 sq ft purpose designed factory with direct links to the M54 and M6 motorways. An important part of the company’s strategy for growth has been the substantial investment in the latest equipment and advanced production technology, resulting in sales output increasing by 70% and manufacturing capacity growing by an impressive 58%.

With its sights set on capturing new markets, the company is rapidly enhancing its reputation in Europe as an innovative designer and manufacturer of unique and bespoke door and window hardware solutions and is ideally positioned for substantial growth in this area.

J.Banks will now go forward to compete against other regional winners from across the UK in the EEF National Awards final to be held in London, January 2013.
