J.BANKS LTD SECURE MOD, POLICE and HMP June 2005

Specialist hardware security company J.Banks & Co Ltd reports a rapid increase in demand from a variety of government departments and public sector authorities, for the company’s window restrictors, Frame-Guard locks, ERICA safety chains and the company’s growing range of bespoke locking devices.

Recent contracts include the Ministry of Defence requiring Res-Lok restrictors to be fitted at a number of air bases and army barracks. Her Majesty's Prison Service has ordered locking catches and specialist Espagnolette hardware for Wormwood Scrubs and HMP Whitemoor prison.

Bedford Police have specified the ERICA safety and security chains in their ‘Bobby’ scheme and the National Health Service have specified the company’s Res-Lok restrictors for use at several new hospitals and refurbishment programmes around the UK.

Commenting on the recent contracts, Technical Manager Peter Harrison said “by working closely with our clients we can develop products to meet their specific requirements. This flexible approach has enabled us to provide locking and restrictor solutions for a wide variety of applications”.

The company also reports that the increasing popularity of their restrictor range has resulted in specification by a growing number of Housing Associations and local Authorities around the country.
